Curiosity can be a powerful motivator and can lead you to some surprising and rewarding paths you never thought you’d take. All it takes is the courage to dive in and try something new when the opportunity arises. For Molly, that moment came at 16 and kickstarted her dental nurse career.

Working in a pub just before lockdown hit, Molly came across a job advert for a trainee dental nurse. Already interested in healthcare, she was instantly intrigued. She took the leap – and that decision launched her into a career she now loves and thrives in.

🦷 A Fast Track to Leadership

Her determination, work ethic, and love for learning enabled Molly to flourish in this new environment, quickly developing new skills and acquiring responsibilities, embracing every opportunity as potential to build her confidence and competency, such as completing her Radiography qualification to develop her clinical skills and become an invaluable member of the team.

Now at the age of 20, Molly’s passion and tenacity has been rewarded with a leadership role within the practice as Lead Nurse. Within this role, Molly has built close working relationships with all the dental specialists within the practice, gaining further insight and knowledge, and developed her leadership skills, supporting the rest of practice’s dental nurses through the daily demands of a busy practice.

💼 Where She Is Now

Today, Molly proudly leads her nursing team with professionalism, care, and ambition. As Head Nurse, she plays a vital role in both patient care and the smooth operation of the practice. But for Molly, this is just the beginning.

She’s now looking to expand her knowledge further, particularly in the admin and operational side of dentistry, while also deepening her clinical experience in oral surgery – an area she’s especially passionate about.

💬 Molly’s advice for those starting out?

“Always think about what avenue your role can take you to next. There’s so many opportunities to learn more in dentistry.”
